NAIA intl runway closed for emergency repairs

MANILA, Philippines — (UPDATE – 12:49 a.m.) Runway 06/24 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport was closed for emergency repairs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.

A media advisory from the Manila International Airport Authority Thursday morning said the NAIA’s domestic runway “will remain open for flight operations.”

This includes international flights by aircraft as large as the Airbus A320 series and Boeing 737, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines.

“The MIAA management seeks the understanding of the public in the interest of safety,” the agency said.

It gave the following numbers for inquiries on the status of flights:

  • Terminal 1: 8771109 loc 765
  • Terminal 2: 8771109 loc 2880 and 2882
  • Terminal 3: 8777888 loc 8144
  • Terminal 4: 8771109 loc 4226
