MANILA, Philippines — A priest from the Diocese of Novaliches is warning Filipinos against owning rosaries and other religious items that allegedly come from those who worship the devil.

A report recently uploaded on the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines website quoted Fr. Ambrosio Nonato Legaspi, head of the diocese of Novaliches office of exorcism (Libera Nox), as saying that Filipinos should be careful with the rosaries they are using as these could be “actually infested or cursed.”

The report said that according to Legaspi, the rosaries are those being given away and prayed over by Satanists, particularly by the group called Iluminati so that evil spirits “will haunt” those who use these.

Diocese of Novaliches Office of Exorcism assistant case officer Philippe De Guzman was also quoted in the report as saying that the Satanic rosaries are often made of plastic and have odd symbols such as a snake wrapped around the cross, a pentagram, and a sun with rays, which is an insignia of the Illuminati.

A devil’s rosary was confiscated by De Guzman’s group from a recent “infestation case” handled by Libera Nox, according to the report.

“Sometimes, there are no symbols but a ritual was done on it like the one we mentioned previously about Botanica, the occult store in many places abroad like in the U.S. where religious items are brought so they could inflict harm on others,” said Legaspi.

According to the priest, witches come to Botanica to buy gadgets and paraphernalia used in the occult and items like religious images so that a curse or evil spirit can be attached to it before it is given away as a gift.
