SAN JOSE CITY, NUEVA ECIJA – Fr. Tito Paez, the 72-year old retired priest who was killed by unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants last December 4, was laid to rest at a private cemetery Monday afternoon here.

Father Tito Paez was on board on a Toyota Innova van and driving alone along the Zaragosa-Jaen Road at Barangay Lambakin, when two motorcycle-riding gunmen fired him using a caliber .45 pistol hitting the back portion of his body.

Fr. Paez was rushed to a nearby hospital but died while undergoing medical treatment.

Private sector and religious groups condemned the untimely demise of Fr. Paez.

Fr. Paez was a native of San Jose City, and served as parish priest at Gen. Natividad, Sto Domingo, Rizal, and Guimba.

Hundreds of individuals from all walks of life, including the Papal Nuncio Archbishop Gabrielle Caccia, attended the funeral rites.
