Fashion-savvy Filipinos noticed Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray wearing the “Three Stars and the Sun” gold ear cuff that she wore when she won the title of Binibining Pilipinas.
While the 24-year-old stunned spectators with her fiery red gown that was inspired by Mayon Volcano during the evening gown competition, it was not just her gown that took the spotlight.
Some social media users also took note of her gold ear cuff that was enhanced by her hairstyle where part of her hair was tucked behind her right ear.

Gray previously revealed that she would wear her “lucky charm” in the coronation of Miss Universe 2018.
She said in an interview five months ago, “Baka isusuot ko ‘yung ear cuff ko! Not that one exactly (na isinuot sa Binibining Pilipinas 2018) but a version.”
The lucky charm
The iconic ear cuff, known as the “Three Stars and the Sun,” was initially sported by Gray when she competed in the Binibining Pilipinas pageant.
She won several awards such as the “Best in National Costume,” “Miss Ever Bilena,” “Best in Swimsuit” and “Best in Long Gown.”
Spectators noticed Gray’s ear cuff when she was coronated Miss Philippines 2018.

Gray shared that she designed the ear cuff herself while Teressa Jewelry was the one who made her vision a reality.
“The design was conceptualized mainly by Catriona herself together with her stylist Ton Lao and (us.),” Carl Deo Fider, the owner of the local jeweler, shared.
“The idea was to come up with the best possible representation of the country. They reached out to our team for this collaboration, which took more than a month of hard work and craftsmanship,” he added.
The beauty queen’s ear cuff is an 18-karat solid gold studded with four carats of natural diamonds. It is valued at P178,000.
Gray has always been fond of statement earrings, she revealed in an interview months before she won Binibining Pilipinas.
“I love earrings. I’m having a gold obsession right now. Especially with quirky, accented earrings, not just the classic pearl or the classic chandelier,” she said.
“I’m really looking for abstract pieces ’cause I think it just adds that something special to your outfit, especially since we’re always wearing Binibini tops anyway,” Gray added.
Her Instagram account shows that she has worn earrings in Australia and in two instances of her Binibining Pilipinas photoshoot.
Teressa Jewelry sells a similar ear cuff to Gray’s “Three Stars and a Sun” that costs P9,900.
