WATCH | Law catches up with suspected widow of terrorist Marwan, ASG’s Janjalani

A combined team of policemen and elements of the Philippine Army’s 5th Mechanized Infantry Battalion arrested five persons at the weekend in Tubod, Lanao del Norte, including the alleged widow of Malaysia terrorist Zulkifli Bin Hir (nom de guerre Marwan) and Abu Sayyaf Group senior leader Khadaffy Janjalani, Juromee Pindoy Dongon.

Marwan had been killed on January 25, 2015 at the Battle of Mamasapano, where a law enforcement mission in Maguindanao Province went awry and 44 officers and men of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Special Action Force met untimely deaths pinned down by hostile fire from combined elements of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters, and private armed groups in Barangay Tukanalipao.

Janjalani died in a firefight at Patikul, Sulu on December 27, 2006.

Along with Juromee, arrested after the service of a search warrant at 4:30 a.m. Sunday, were Lorilie Atta and Senior Police Officer4 Andy Atta.

In a separate search operation, in Baroi, government forces arrested Romeo Dongon, the father of Juromee, and her sister Nur-ain Dongon Santos.

The operations were carried out by Joint Task Force Zampelan and the Lanao del Norte PNP.

Seized from Juromee were a fragmentation hand grenade, six blasting caps and detonating cord, a caliber 9mm Glock 17 hand gun with three magazines and 37 pieces of live ammunition.

Confiscated from Romeo were a cal .45 Colt Pistol MK1 with three cartridges and a magazine, an M61 fragmentation hand grenade, and several explosive components, including an empty blasting cup, detonating cord, and two electrical wires.
