A day before Rodrigo Duterte delivers his penultimate State of the Nation Address, a parody social media account prepared a list of topics and words that he would probably mention during the speech.

Parody account Malacañang Events and Catering Services shared the list of words on social media and jested that viewers should “take a shot, a drink” or empty their glasses whenever the chief executive mentions them in this year’s SONA.

“The tradition continues. #SONA2020,” the account said on its Twitter and Facebook account.

The list, dubbed the “SONA 2020 Drinking Game,” is divided into three categories such as “take a shot,” “take a drink” and “bottom’s up” whenever Duterte mentions certain words.

Some of the likely words that the parody account perceived to be uttered in the speech include expletives, the coronavirus or the “veerus,” China, terrorism or the Anti-Terrorism Law, ABS-CBN, communists and the opposition.

The parody account last year also released a list of words that it expected Duterte to utter, albeit shorter in a similar drinking game. It included expletives and some topics that he has been known to talk about such as China, corruption, federalism and narcotics.

Some Filipinos on social media noted that SONA 2019 touched on the president’s policy on the West Philippine Sea, the resumption of death penalty, new Cabinet-level agencies and some off-color remarks about women.

This year, the parody account surmised that Duterte will talk about some of the matters that he has constantly mentioned in his recent national addresses, including policies that were fast-tracked upon his directive.

Other topics expected in the SONA speech include the COVID-19 pandemic, the recently-signed anti-terror law currently facing legal challenges in the Supreme Court and his gripes about communists who he claimed were “terrorists” despite it needing a court approval.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said the president is expected to talk about the country’s COVID-19 recovery plan in terms of economy, as well as the government’s response and efforts in fighting the viral disease.

His speech will be broadcasted by state-run media which have been denounced by the Freedom for Media, Freedom for All Network Network alliance, given the recent edits made on Duterte’s speech concerning ABS-CBN.
