Looks like Asian fans cannot get enough of Celine Dion.
The legendary Canadian pop diva, who last month announced her Asian tour that will commence this June has added more dates to her schedule. Dion was originally scheduled to perform for two nights each in Macau, Singapore and Taipei plus one night only concerts in Tokyo, Jakarta, Manila and Bangkok.
Last January 25, a third date was added to her Taipei stop due to “overwhelming demand” while a second Manila concert was also added this Monday, February 12, after tickets for her July 19 concert were declared sold out.
“Due to demand, and to ensure all fans have a chance to catch the show, a second show has been added on July 20 (Friday) at Mall Of Asia Arena,” went the announcement of concert promoter Ovation Productions on its Facebook page.
The announcement added that members of Dion’s Team Celine fan club will have first dibs to purchase the tickets before the public through an advance pre-sale on February 13 from 10AM to midnight. PLDT Smart subscribers will also have their special pre-sale on February 14 from 10AM to midnight.
One of the most immediately recognized, widely respected and successful performers in pop music history, Dion has sold almost 250 million albums during her over 30-year career and is best known for hit songs like “If You Asked Me To,” “The Power of Love,” “Because You Loved Me,” “It’s All Coming Back to Me,” “All By Myself,” “My Heart Will Go On,” “I’m Your Angel,” and “That’s The Way It Is.”
She has earned five Grammy Awards, two Academy Awards and seven American Music Awards. In 2004, Dion received the Diamond award at the World Music Awards recognizing her status as the best-selling female artist of all time. In 2016, the Billboard Music Awards presented her with the lifetime achievement Icon Award.
She continues to break records with her ongoing Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace which has played over 1,000 shows to more than four million fans.
