MANILA, Philippines — A security guard was killed when a heated argument with a colleague turned into gunplay in Malate, Manila early Wednesday morning, October 25.

According to police, Mario Corpuz, who was reportedly drunk, tried to enter the garage of his agency’s armored cars past 2 a.m. but was barred by Julius Igat.

This triggered the altercation until Igat shot Corpuz, who died immediately from a bullet to the chest.

Another guard, Jonathan Lazarte, who tried to pacify his two colleagues, was wounded in the leg.

Igat fled and is being sought by authorities.
